“Life After Wha never quite adds up to a whole. It moves through time, seemingly going forwards as each narrative segment advances, but ending without a satisfying resolution.
It attempts to resist a desire to attribute meaning in order to feel satisfaction by proxy of purpose. Life After Wha works in ambivalence, striving instead for the whimsical pleasure of leaving things unresolved, of being in a state of not knowing.
I live in a culture with a fetish for defining as a means to meaning through purpose. I grow tired of things being quantified, tagged, and sorted as if nothing can exist without its commodification. I have a desire for things to be left, dangling.
This video is not a critique of culture nor does it offer a dialectic on meaning. Rather, it is a work of imagination and play that occupies a space of its own creation while remaining in dialogue with the culture through which it was born.”
